Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and therapy services for clients in Chattanooga, TN. You will lead interdisciplinary care, educate staff, and tailor plans for individuals with developmental challenges while complying with TN regulations.

The role requires Doctorate in Physical Therapy (or grandfathered equivalent), TN licensure, and current exam completion, with CPR within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy required; those grandfathered without a Doctorate may be considered.
• Must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination.
• Current licensure from the TN Board of Physical Therapy.
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred, not required.
• Basic knowledge of state, federal and ICF/IID laws and regulations.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial admission and annual assessments and PT screenings for changes in needs.
• Establish and implement effective treatment plans with functional goals.
• Assess movement dysfunction and develop plans to address it.
• Provide staff education and activity programs.
• Assist with orthotic devices, wheelchairs, gait supports, and educate staff on equipment use.
• Observe, evaluate and document treatment results; modify plans accordingly.
• Work with other Open Arms Care locations as needed.
• Advise clients and staff on in-home treatment options and exercises.
• Participate as a vital member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Complete initial admission and annual assessments as assigned as well as assessments / screenings for changes in client’s Physical Therapy Supports for acute changes.
• Establish and implement effective treatment plans with functional treatment goals.
• Assessing clients to determine if there is a movement dysfunction and develop a treatment plan to address the dysfunction
• Provide staff education and activity programs
• Assisting with the construction, evaluation and use of appropriate orthotic devices, wheelchairs, gait supports, etc. and educating all levels of staff on the use of physical therapy related adaptive/positioning equipment
• Observe, evaluate and document the results of treatment interventions and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Work with other Open Arms Care (OAC) locations as needed
• Advise the client and OAC personnel concerning in-home treatment option and exercises
• Participate as a vital member of the Interdisciplinary Team, working together with the team to assist clients with both acute and chronic conditions
• Will perform other duties as assigned

• Graduate of an accredited academic program in Physical Therapy with Doctorate Level Degree. Those without a Doctorate Level Degree who have been grandfathered as a Physical Therapist will be considered.
