Job summary

Providence Swedish First Hill is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the interdisciplinary Pain Services team, delivering direct clinical care in outpatient Functional Restoration and hospital-based Pain Management settings. The role emphasizes a biopsychosocial approach, ongoing education in Pain Neuroscience, and collaboration with families, physicians, and other health professionals.

Applicants must graduate from an accredited PT program and hold a Washington PT license (or temporary permit)

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy.
  • Washington Physical Therapist License required at hire (or temporary permit) and BLS.
  • Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain.
  • Ability to learn and apply Pain Neuroscience Education.

Job description

The Physical Therapist (PT) is a member of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct clinical services to the Swedish Pain Services (SPS) including the outpatient "Functional Restoration" center and hospital-based "Pain Management" suite.

Required Qualifications:
  • A graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy.
  • Upon hire:
    • Washington Physical Therapist License --or--
    • Washington state physical therapy license, or temporary permit
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain
  • Ability to learn and/or integrate the latest concepts of Pain Neuroscience Education into treatment plans
  • Strong orthopedic background
  • Highly developed interpersonal, and counseling skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population
  • Ability to work effectively with groups
  • Ability to develop cooperative relationships with families, patients, physicians and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish
  • Ability to work in different settings as required by system needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Women’s health continuing education or certification experience
  • Pain Neuroscience continuing education or certification as therapeutic pain specialist
  • Graduation from accredited DPT program
  • Experience in ortho, neuro, cancer, cardiac or other designated specialty populations based on campus needs
  • Experience treating chronic pain
