**Physical Therapist (P.T.)**

**Acute Care**

**Full-time**

· **Work location:** Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

· Physical Therapy department

**Work hours:** Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, rotate weekends and some holidays.

**Here’s What You Need**

· Bachelor’s degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required.

· No experience needed - New grads are welcome!

· PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required

· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

· Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

· Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.

· Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

**Staff Certifications:**

+ Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)

+ Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)

+ Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)

+ Certified lymphedema therapists

+ Certified hand therapists

**What You Will Do**

· Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

· Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.

· Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

· Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.

· Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.

· Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
