Job Description: Physical Therapist

Provide physical therapy services to patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and supervise support personnel. Manage resources effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assess and evaluate physical therapy needs according to organizational and professional guidelines.
  2. Develop and revise treatment plans based on patient progress, age, and situation, including discharge planning.
  3. Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with guidelines.
  4. Orient, train, and mentor therapy and healthcare students.
  5. Identify and act upon performance improvement opportunities.
  6. Participate in additional departmental, organizational, or network activities as per objectives.
  7. Uphold SRN Organizational Values: Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed and in good standing as a physical therapist in Rhode Island.
  • BLS certification required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Basic math and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques.
  • Problem-solving skills considering patient's age, psychosocial, cultural, and religious background.
  • Ability to teach and self-assess learning needs and goals.
  • Ability to safely perform all responsibilities without risk of injury.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.

Work Schedule:

Variable hours including evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel as needed to provide patient care.
