At Optimum, your work has a visible impact.
We are an independently owned, clinician-led physical therapy practice—not a large corporate chain. Our size allows us to keep decisions close to the patients and people they affect. Every team member is known, every voice matters, and clinicians have meaningful opportunities to influence patient care, clinic workflow, new programs, and the direction of the practice.
We have intentionally built an alternative to the high-volume, burnout-heavy outpatient model. We believe exceptional patient care begins with physical therapists who feel respected, supported, and able to continue growing throughout their careers.
Our clinicians have the autonomy to make thoughtful clinical decisions, the support to work through challenging cases, and the opportunity to pursue areas of practice that genuinely interest them.
People who join Optimum tend to stay. Our low turnover reflects a culture built around trust, flexibility, professional development, and long-term working relationships.
We welcome clinicians at every stage of their careers—from new graduates looking for mentorship to experienced physical therapists ready to develop a specialty, lead a program, or help shape the next phase of the practice.
You do not need to arrive as an expert. We are looking for people who are curious, self‑motivated, collaborative, receptive to feedback, and committed to continuing to become better.
Our growing Folsom clinic is hiring a physical therapist for a regular part-time or full-time outpatient position.
We are open to establishing a consistent schedule of anywhere from 20 to 40 hours per week, with the specific weekly commitment agreed upon during the hiring process. Once established, the position will have a predictable number of regularly scheduled hours rather than varying from week to week.
The Folsom clinic is recently opened and continuing to establish its identity and reputation in the community. This is an opportunity not only to treat patients, but also to help shape how the clinic develops. The right clinician will have room to introduce ideas, develop an area of specialty practice, build new services, and make a meaningful contribution to the clinic’s growth.
Medical insurance and employer 401(k) matching are available to employees regularly scheduled for at least 30 hours per week, subject to applicable plan terms.
The full‑time clinical target is approximately 50 patient visits per full working week, prorated for part‑time schedules. This generally equals approximately 10 visits during an eight‑hour clinical day.
Clinicians are also encouraged to develop a specialty or service area that interests them. We are open to new ideas and willing to support a motivated clinician who wants to build a program of their own.
Newer clinicians receive scheduled weekly mentorship, with the amount of oversight, observation, and direct clinical overlap adjusted according to experience and individual needs.
The Folsom clinic director is an Arcadia University DPT and orthopedic residency graduate, a Board‑Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, a clinical instructor, and an adjunct faculty member at Arcadia University.
The clinician’s support system extends beyond the Folsom location. Our nearby Swarthmore team joins Folsom clinicians on Wednesdays for in‑services, continuing education, case discussion, and clinical development.
Across the two locations, the clinician will have access to a five‑physical‑therapist support network that includes:
The level of direct supervision is tailored to the individual. A new graduate can expect greater overlap, observation, and guidance, while an experienced clinician will have more independence and room to develop their own clinical interests.
Optimum invests heavily in clinicians who are serious about continued development.
Professional‑development support includes:
Depending on regular hours and eligibility, benefits include:
