Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist with experience in lymphedema treatment to join the Outpatient Rehabilitation: Womens Health team. The role offers 40 hours per week, 8-5 with one half-day Saturday every 8 weeks, and a pay range of $38.20-$57.30 per hour.

The incumbent will also treat orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients and participate in evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or D.P.T degree from accredited physical therapy school.
• Current licensure in the applicable state.
• CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
• Provides patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and aligned with the Standard of Practice.
• Maintains accurate documentation by completing written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy; keeps patient records systematically and legibly.
• Meets department financial and productivity standards by understanding budgeted expectations, maintaining productivity, and adjusting individual schedules to meet patient and department needs.
• Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services, identifies quality and operational opportunities, communicates progress barriers to supervisor, and researches evidence-based best practices to improve patient care.
• Promotes professional development and education of other health care workers, provides representation on committees, conducts in-service training programs to share state-of-the-art information.

Education

The Physical Therapy team at Medical Plaza Miller is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist with experience/certification in treatment of lymphedema to participate in the care of our patients with needs in this specialized area. This position would also have the flexibility to treat orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients at the same location. Qualified applicants will possess excellent communication, flexibility and time management skills, as well as a desire to implement the most current and evidence based practice.

What You’ll Do

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. Follows hospital, departmental policies and procedures, and contributes to overall quality of services. Assumes responsibility for staying informed about changes in policies and procedures.
• Provides patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and aligned with the Standard of Practice. Uses professional judgment to interpret evaluation results, establish an acceptable treatment plan with realistic goals, encourages patients and significant others in goal setting, recognizes and responds to changes in the patient’s physiologic state, recommends next level of care, ensures quality outcomes, and supervises support staff assisting with patient care.
• Maintains accurate documentation by completing written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy; ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient/family education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD‑10 codes as appropriate; keeps patient records systematically and legibly.
• Meets department financial and productivity standards by understanding budgeted expectations, maintaining productivity, and adjusting individual schedules to meet patient and department needs.
• Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services, identifies quality and operational opportunities, communicates progress barriers to supervisor, and researches evidence‑based best practices to improve patient care.
• Promotes professional development and education of other health care workers, provides representation on committees, conducts in‑service training programs to share state-of-the-art information, understands changes/developments in the profession locally, at the state level, and nationally, and shares clinical expertise with other therapists, student affiliates, and health care professionals.
• Communicates effectively: with patients, physicians, staff, and all external customers; responds promptly to staff questions; promotes an open atmosphere of communication; shares information from seminars; informs supervisor of issues and potential problem resolutions; ensures patients and families understand care information.
