Job summary

Dignity Health - Methodist Hospital in Sacramento seeks a Physical Therapist to help pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients rebuild mobility, reduce pain, and improve daily living. You will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, provide direct therapies, and document progress while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and families.

A California Physical Therapist license within 6 months and BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapist license (within 6 months).
• BLS from American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient evaluations within 24 - 48 hours according to department protocol, setting appropriate and relevant goals.
• Implement effective and adequate treatment plans, modifying goals and interventions as appropriate while ensuring patient safety.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education, utilizing various teaching methods suitable for their level of understanding.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to department policies for concise, legible records that reflect all interventions and assessments.
• Communicate treatment plans and patient status promptly with the interdisciplinary team and medical doctors, participating in team conferences as needed.
• Ensure compliance with department policies for timecards, productivity logs, billing, and other departmental functions.

The outpatient physical therapy department at Methodist Outpatient Rehab offers targeted rehabilitation programs to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve functional independence for individuals, enabling them to return to their daily activities.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist, you will help pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients rebuild or maintain their physical well-being so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.

Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct therapeutic treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care that ensures effective documentation and compliance with department protocol.

• California Physical Therapist license, within 6 - months.
