Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree and completion of a Physical Therapy program.
  • Texas Physical Therapy License to be obtained upon hire.
  • BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care.
  • Pelvic Health experience preferred.
  • Strong English communication, problem solving, teaching and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient treatment.
  • Uses therapeutic techniques suitable for patient age and needs.
  • Performs procedures within licensure scope.
  • Delegates and performs technical procedures safely.
  • Applies varied treatment techniques to reach goals.
  • Assesses patient response and progress (reassessment).
  • Educates patient and family about treatment plan, safety, home programs and equipment.
  • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment.
  • Communicates with physicians and healthcare team about care.

Physical Therapist Outpatient

Work location: Texas Health Hospital Denton 3000 North I-35 Denton TX 76201

Work hours: Full Time (40 hours)

Here’s What You Need
  • Bachelor's Degree, Completion of a Physical Therapy program, upon hire required
  • PT - Physical Therapist, Texas Physical Therapy License, upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • Pelvic Health experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do
  • Performs age-appropriate patient treatment
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license
  • Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
  • Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment)
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment
  • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
  • Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
