Job summary

OrthoIndy in Brownsburg, IN is seeking a highly motivated Physical Therapist for full-time outpatient care. The PT will provide evaluative and rehabilitative services, working one-on-one with patients and following surgeon-approved protocols.

Responsibilities include documenting progress in the EMR, coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, and organizing treatment times in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science is required.
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in Indiana is required.
  • 1–2 years of Physical Therapy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluative and rehabilitative services as ordered by the surgeon/physician.
  • Develop pre- and post-operative rehabilitation protocols per physician guidance.
  • Document all procedures and patient status in the EMR.
  • Communicate with physicians and nursing staff about patient progress.
  • Organize patient treatment times and maintain a clean, stocked work area.

Shift Details: Full-time, Monday-Friday, eight hour clinic days. Full benefits included!

  • OrthoIndyHospital West, located in Brownsburg,Indiana, providesoutpatient care for patients that includes an urgentcare, clinic, imaging and physical therapy. OI West also performs outpatient procedures and surgeries in our twooperating rooms.
General Statement of Duties

The Physical Therapist will be providing evaluative and rehabilitative services and procedures when ordered by the attending surgeon/physician. Patient populations may include, but not be limited to, non-operative management and post-operative care to the spine and extremities.

  • Develops and implements pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation exercise protocols and therapy interventions for individuals based upon existing Physician protocol for the operative procedure performed or non-operative management of the pathology.
  • Documents all treatment procedures and exercise, in addition to the patients’’ current status and changes in status in EMR.
    Recognizes changes in patient status and reports to the nursing staff and referring Physician. Communicates with Physicians and nursing staff regarding the clinical and functional status of the patient.
  • Communicates with patients regarding status and prognosis in rehabilitation relative to the pathology that the patient is recovering from and the rehabilitative goals set forth by the patient. Educates the patient on the injury, disability, or impairment they are recovering from.
  • Communicates with family members of patient regarding the patient’s status and needs as it relates to the patient becoming independent in adult daily living.
  • Participates in the Therapy Department quality control internal audits.
  • Responsible for organizing patient treatment times.
  • Responsible for organizing, stocking, and cleaning the work area.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science required; Master's degree in Physical Therapypreferred
  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Indiana required
  • 1-2 years of Physical Therapy experience preferred
