SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000 with work commitment

PRN WEEKEND COVERAGE

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy for modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains department performance versus budget controls, and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Current Iowa Physical Therapy licensure, graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in all aspects of physical therapy preferred.
  3. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
  4. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  5. Strong written and verbal skills.
  6. Basic computer knowledge.
  7. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
  8. Knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance, and repairs of same.
