Job description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Physical Therapist (CASUAL/PRN) to join our team in Milford, Delaware.

This is a PRN position providing coverage as needed in our outpatient setting, primarily on weekdays. The hours and need will vary, covering for PTO, call-outs, and high patient census.

This role offers an opportunity to grow your career within a dynamic, multidisciplinary clinic shared with Nemours Specialty and Primary Care. We evaluate and treat patients from birth to 18 years with diverse diagnoses, including post-op, sports injuries, and neurodevelopmental disorders. We also partner with the Birth to Three program for early intervention services.

The physical therapist will perform patient examinations, evaluations, interventions, documentation, parent/caregiver education, and coordinate care with medical staff and outside agencies, adhering to departmental and Delaware Valley policies. Pediatric physical therapy competency is required.

Essential Functions

  • Proficient in caring for patients aged birth to 18
  • Capable of providing therapy to various patient types, recognizing personal limitations and seeking mentorship when needed
  • Complete timely documentation per departmental and accreditation standards
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment discussions
  • Consult with families, other services, and outside agencies on equipment, home/school modifications, and transition planning
  • Understand insurance referral and authorization processes for therapy services

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; DPT considered entry-level
  • Minimum 3-6 months experience preferred; new graduates considered based on education
  • Delaware Physical Therapist License required upon hire
  • Second license recommended
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment
  • Pennsylvania clearances required for Pennsylvania license holders
  • Membership in professional organizations (APTA, State PT Assoc.) preferred
