The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.

Current need is for a full time Physical Therapist.

The Acute Rehabilitation Program consist of five beds and serves residents who demonstrate the ability to participate in an intensive therapy program (e.g. at least 3 hours of therapy daily) and the potential for rapid functional gains.

The SNF Rehabilitation Program consists of forty-nine beds and serves residents who are unable to tolerate an intensive rehabilitation program or who require focused rehabilitation needs (e.g. predominantly physical therapy needs).

Pay Rate (eff 07-2025) $115,440. - $162,578.

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:30 to 4, or 9 to 5 ,includes weekend day- Saturday and/or Sunday.

Job Requirements :

Valid current CA licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California

Current valid Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association. Eligibles who do not possess such a certification may participate in this examination process and be appointed to a position(s), but will be required to obtain the certificate within two (2) weeks of the hire date and maintain validity throughout the length of employment. Failure to demonstrate/show proof of possession of valid certification within two (2) weeks of the hire date and throughout the length of employment may result in dismissal and/or termination of employment.

Special Requirements; Experience evaluating and treating geriatric patient population and neurological diagnoses (e.g. CVA, TBI)
