Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position provides flexibility to work in various settings across the country. On assignment, the Physical Therapist assesses patient needs, develops, and delivers physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. They identify referral needs to other disciplines, implement individualized therapy plans to restore and enhance performance, and educate patients and caregivers to promote independence.
The therapist supervises Physical Therapy Assistants, students, and support personnel as per state licensure requirements and standards. They ensure the effective delivery of rehab services, adhere to care plans, and maintain timely documentation. They participate in patient care meetings, make interdisciplinary referrals, and adapt plans based on patient progress. They promote safety, order supplies, maintain equipment, and ensure a compassionate, high-quality patient experience.
Key services include therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway techniques, integumentary repairs, and use of electrotherapeutic modalities. They also design and fit adaptive devices, instruct patients in mobility, and perform reexaminations to modify treatment plans as needed.
