Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position provides flexibility to work in various settings across the country. On assignment, the Physical Therapist assesses patient needs, develops, and delivers physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. They identify the need for referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive patient needs. They implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Additionally, they instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, aiming to diminish or correct pathology. They supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as per state licensure requirements and professional standards. Responsibilities include ensuring effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to care plans, documentation, participating in patient care and staffing meetings, making interdisciplinary referrals, and modifying treatment plans based on patient progress. They promote a safe environment, order supplies, maintain equipment, and prioritize patient service by providing compassionate care. They evaluate patients through history, systems review, and appropriate tests, interpret findings, and establish diagnoses. They develop treatment goals collaboratively, implement plans, and document all services. Techniques include therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, electrotherapy, and the use of adaptive devices. They select suitable activities based on individual capacities and interests and evaluate patient progress, attitudes, and behavior. Routine reexaminations are performed to modify or progress the treatment plan. Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license and eligibility.
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy, or a related field with a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressive PT experience.
  • Availability to travel and temporarily reside outside the primary home location.
  • Foreign degrees must be evaluated as equivalent to U.S. degrees in Physical Therapy.

Posted Salary Range

USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 per hour.
