Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This role involves assessing, developing, and delivering physical therapy programs to facilitate patient rehabilitation. It includes making referrals, implementing individualized treatment plans, and educating patients and caregivers to promote independence.
Supervision of support personnel and adherence to care plans and documentation standards are essential. The therapist will participate in team meetings, promote safety, order supplies, and maintain equipment. They will evaluate patients, set treatment goals, and perform various therapeutic techniques including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, airway clearance, and use of modalities. They will also design and fit adaptive devices, instruct patients in mobility, and reexamine and modify treatment plans as needed.
