Job summary

Union Hospital Therapy, LLC is seeking an energetic Physical Therapist to join our inpatient clinical team in Terre Haute, IN. The role includes developing individualized treatment plans, supervising PTAs, and coordinating care for total joint patients, with opportunities in acute care or medical rehabilitation units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Currently licensed/certified/registered in good standing or ability to obtain licensure.
• CPR/AED/BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Advanced education or certification in neuro care, sports medicine, etc. is a bonus.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the shift.
• Strong professionalism and written/verbal communication.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals.
• Review patient information, evaluate, and communicate treatment process.
• Revise treatment plans as needed for injuries or diseases affecting muscles, nerves, joints, or bones.
• Instruct patient/family in exercises and procedures to continue after discharge.
• Delegate tasks and supervise PTAs and rehabilitation technicians.
• Complete documentation per policies and federal/state regulations.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Developing and implementing an individualized treatment plan based on patient needs containing achievable functional goals by using therapeutic exercise and modalities, as necessary
• Reviewing available patient information, evaluating the impact of the assessment, and communicating of the treatment process
• Revising treatment plans, as needed, throughout the treatment process for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint, and/or bone diseases
• Establishing and instructing patient and/or family/caregiver in exercises and therapeutic procedures to be continued following discharge
• Delegating tasks and supervising physical therapist assistants (PTA) and rehabilitation technicians
• Completing appropriate documentation according to Company/department policies and procedures along with adhering to federal and state regulations

Our ideal candidate would:

• Have a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy
• Have the required state licensure, certification, and registration that is in good standing with the state or the ability to obtain the required state licensure
• Provide a CPR/AED/BLS (basic life support) certification or have the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
• Have some advanced education, training, or certification is a bonus (neuro care, sports medicine, etc.)
• Have the ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the entire assigned shift
• Have a high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
• Have strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
• Be able to maintain confidentiality
