Physical Therapist II - PRN - Days - Pin Oak

Role Overview

The PT II evaluates and develops therapy plans for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities, with opportunities for specialization through advanced training. Responsibilities include patient education, collaboration with healthcare team members, and serving as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff and students. The role also involves participation in quality metrics collection and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to teamwork and foster positive relationships within the healthcare environment.
  2. Use therapeutic communication to establish rapport and collaborate on care plans.
  3. Mentor and orient new team members and students, promoting peer accountability and departmental engagement.
  4. Perform comprehensive patient evaluations to identify functional levels and develop treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to patient comprehension.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team members on treatment modifications and discharge planning.
  7. Monitor patient progress, recognize complications, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  8. Ensure safety and quality in therapy activities, contributing to process improvements.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation and manage resources efficiently.
  10. Engage in continuous learning and innovation, participating in projects and community activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved education program for physical therapy.
  • Minimum of two years of experience or completion of a residency program.
  • Current BLS certification and Texas State Licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Proficiency in English and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex patient care situations.
