The Physical Therapist II will provide advanced physical therapy services to pediatric patients with various disabilities and diseases. The role requires knowledge of therapeutic exercises, development, and modalities such as hydrotherapy and electric therapy. The therapist will collaborate with leadership and the program manager to support clinical and administrative operations within the Rehabilitation Program and specifically the Physical Therapy Department.
This role is based at the new Fight for Children Sports Medicine Center, a state-of-the-art pediatric facility dedicated to helping young athletes achieve their potential. The center features multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, athletic trainers, sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, psychologists, nurses, kinesiologists, and brain injury specialists, offering specialized sports-related rehabilitation and performance programs.
The physical therapists at the center will deliver sport-specific and athlete-specific care to assist student athletes in regaining strength, mobility, and confidence post-injury, aiming for a safe return to their sports and activities. The facility is equipped with advanced cardiovascular, strengthening, and stability equipment to facilitate high-quality rehabilitation. The position offers opportunities to develop programs focused on injury prevention, sports-specific rehabilitation, and performance enhancement, with a specialized focus on adolescent athletes. The therapist will work closely with cutting-edge motion capture technology to analyze and improve athletic movements, helping young athletes prevent injuries and optimize performance.
The Fight For Children Sports Medicine Center is located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
Minimum Work Experience
4-5 years of pediatric experience and successful submission of the Professional Ladder application.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Physical Therapist license in DC or the treating jurisdiction.
