About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus of ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics, and women’s services. It also features a lab, diagnostic imaging, physical and respiratory therapy, and the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, which provides advanced chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.

Position Summary

Provides direct patient care through evaluation and treatment based on patient age and condition. Seeks to improve knowledge and skills, provides leadership, and participates in team activities and interdisciplinary collaboration as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct patient care by evaluating, goal-setting, designing treatment plans, administering treatments, re-evaluating, and modifying treatments. Participates in discharge planning and patient/caregiver education, ensuring safety and reporting unsafe conditions. Supervises students as appropriate.
  2. Completes documentation accurately and promptly. Communicates effectively with healthcare team members and patients/caregivers.
  3. Meets productivity standards. Pursues ongoing education and shares knowledge with colleagues. Obtains additional training/certification as needed for specialty areas.
  4. Assists in policy development, participates in meetings, and contributes to program goals and quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree from an APTA-accredited school of Physical Therapy.
  • Less than three years of licensure.
  • Valid or eligible Physical Therapy license in North Carolina.
