A public health organization is seeking an entry-level Physical Therapist I in California to evaluate and plan physical therapy treatments. The ideal candidate will administer various therapies, educate patients, and work collaboratively with healthcare teams. Licensing requirements include possession of a valid California Physical Therapist license and a Basic Life Support certification. Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting individuals on a continuous basis to fill entry-level Physical Therapist I positions. Therapists may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and its Health Centers or the California Children Services (CCS) Programs located throughout the County.
Physical Therapist I is an entry-level classification requiring no experience. Incumbents in this classification perform a full range of general therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments.
Either 1) Possession and maintenance of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California, or 2) Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and acceptance of an application to take the State of California Physical Therapy Licensing Examination. Continued employment under the latter requirement is dependent upon successfully passing the licensing examination that has been applied for.
Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
