Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatrics. The role involves supervising patients and rehab staff, working under Therapy Leadership to ensure care aligns with Mercy standards.

The position requires a current Physical Therapy license in the state, a relevant degree (BPT/MSPT/DPT), and BLS certification. Preferred experience includes 6 months to 1 year in rehab with adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy.
• BLS certification is required and must be current.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist and experience with adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and supervision to rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
