Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients under supervision. The role includes direct supervision of rehabilitation technicians and general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Educational requirements include a current state PT license, with a degree pathway spanning B.S., M.S., or DPT.

Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy required.
• Licensed to practice in state of practice (current/temporary).
• BLS certification must be current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year experience preferred in rehabilitation for adults and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of rehabilitation technicians and supervision of PT assistants per State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
