Depending on experience, the salary range for this position is $71,000 - $100,000.

Description:

Piedmont Health Services has an excellent opportunity for a Physical Therapist at our Burlington, North Carolina, site providing all inclusive care for the elderly. This position has a census around 100 patients/participants.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and reassess participants' mobility level and other functional abilities.
• Provide and recommend therapeutic exercise, gait training, ambulation, etc.
• Plans and develops group exercise programs for maintenance therapy for participants.
• Conducts an initial assessment and schedules reassessments of all participants; communicates participant changes to team members.
• Develops a treatment program when indicated, sets goals and provides treatment.
• Reviews and completes assessments and discharge summaries.
• Plans and develops maintenance, exercise and therapy programs for participants.
• Provides manual muscle testing, sensory/perceptual testing, neuromotor functioning, and appropriateness of current assistive/adaptive/orthotic devices.
• Participates as a member of Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
• Attends staff meetings and takes part in participant care planning; communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.
• Provides training to family members, friends, and Piedmont Health Senior Care staff members for parts of the treatment plan that can be carried out by them.
• Emergency interventions.
• Provides supervision to the program aides and other staff members who are implementing a physical therapy treatment program.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to demonstrate clinical competency with geriatric population.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Education:

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

Licensure:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in North Carolina.

Experience:

• 1 year of experience working with the frail or elderly populations.
