Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients under the supervision of Therapy Leadership.

You will supervise rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants, ensuring care aligns with Mercy Service Standards, state practice acts, and evidence-based practices. A knowledge of geriatric care and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or Doctorate in PT.
• Current/Temporary license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.Experience:Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.Other:Preferred Education:Preferred Licensure:Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.Preferred Certifications:Preferred Other:

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
