Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at Ingalls Memorial Hospital (Tinley Park) as a Physical Therapist.

In this role as a Physical Therapist, you will examine, evaluate, test and work to alleviate mechanical, physiological or developmental impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or other health and movement related conditions; classifying these disorders, determining a rehabilitation prognosis and plan of therapeutic intervention and assessing the ongoing effects of the interventions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
  • Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of adult patients.
  • Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings, and the patient/family, the referring practitioner, and therapist's goals.
  • Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
  • Treats patients with complex problems, i.e., co-morbidities and/or poor previous outcomes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
  • Documents findings, patient progress, procedures performed, and time required.
  • Instructs patient/families in home programs.
  • Demonstrates effective time management and achieves designated productivity standard.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program with minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
  • Licensed, or eligible, in the state of Illinois with Notification of eligibility for examination.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
