Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating, and discharge planning for all referred patients. The PT helps patients reach their highest function level, working with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. This role is specifically for our spinal cord injury program at Elkins Park.

Essential Functions:

  • Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
  • Provide evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning across various settings such as acute care, skilled facilities, rehab, and outpatient clinics.
  • Participate in student education for ICE, OT level I, or full-time students.
  • Apply current literature to clinical practice.
  • Plan and deliver treatment programs aiding patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques for safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  • Document patient progress, treatments, evaluations, and discharge summaries accurately.
  • Assist in staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments.
  • Contribute to program development and departmental improvement activities with supervisor approval.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional activities.
  • Support clinical and operational tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of current clinical practice.
  • Valid PA state license in Physical Therapy.
  • BLS and CPR certifications via AHA.
