Position Summary

The physical therapist works with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and interventions to achieve the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from various sources including the patient, physician, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Develops treatment plans with specific goals, integrating with the continuum of care.
• Demonstrates competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, ensuring safety and providing explanations to patients.
• Provides age-appropriate care, re-evaluates and modifies treatment plans as needed.
• Provides patient and family education as indicated.
• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree or higher in physical therapy from an approved program.

Licensure/Certification: Current Physical Therapist license in Florida (temporary permit acceptable) and current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
