Job summary

Mercy in Missouri is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehab technicians, with general supervision of PT assistants in line with State Practice Acts.

Education required includes a Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy, with a current/temporary license to practice in

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervise PT assistants per State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

Experience:

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.

Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.


• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.


• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
