Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Physical Therapist to assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatrics. You will supervise patients and rehab staff while ensuring care aligns with Mercy standards.

The role requires a current PT license and appropriate certifications, with preference for 6–12 months of rehab experience and familiarity with adult/geriatric populations. Mercy offers strong benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current license to practice physical therapy.
• Graduation with a Bachelor, MS in Physical Therapy or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• BLS certification required to start.
• Six months to one year Rehabilitation PT experience preferred.
• Experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehab technicians.
• Supervise PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

• Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.


• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.


• Experience:Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.


• Other:Preferred Education:Preferred Licensure:Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.Preferred Certifications:Preferred Other:

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.


• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.


• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
