Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist (float) to join our Therapy - Pasadena team. This role requires a licensed physical therapist with competency in varied evaluation and treatment approaches, and strong patient communication across diverse ages.

The therapist will provide outpatient services across Pasadena, Annapolis, Waugh Chapel, Gambrills and surrounding locations, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
• Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia licensure as required for location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation services including review of historical information and specific assessments.
• Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols and adjusts plan of care as needed.
• Completes discharge planning and timely documentation for patient care activities.

MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist (float) to join our team at Therapy - Pasadena! We are looking foralicensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy;demonstrateduse of varied evaluation and treatment approaches;customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds;andeffective communication.

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to outpatients/clients, to include but not limited to screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re-assessment and revision, patient/client re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation at a minimum of three (3) outpatient locations. The Physical Therapist participates as requested in program planning and protocol development and assists the team in meeting established goals

Primary Duties

• Providesevaluation services including review of pertinenthistoricalinformation, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatmentplantopatientand family and incorporatespatientand family in the goals setting.




• Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment.Consultswith other healthcare professionals asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.




• Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activitiesconsideringour evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.




• Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Managean accurateschedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment toprovidefrictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.




• Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students.Assistswith orientation and mentoring ofinexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.Participates in team removal of barriers to access, understands CSI measurement data of thesitesand actively engages in the Access NRH initiatives.
