Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Physical Therapist to interpret referrals, assess patients, and develop individualized treatment plans in line with PT practice standards. Employment Status: Variable / Flex Shift: Day (United States of America) Facility: 2331 Franklin Rd - Roanoke Requisition Number: R157347 Physical Therapist- Flex/PRN Outpatient (Open).

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Confirm and interpret physician referrals; perform patient assessments and develop individualized treatment programs in accordance with regulations governing the practice of physical therapy. Coordinate patient care and communication across the care team; document care in the patient’s medical record. Supervise PTAs; collaborate with therapy staff, support staff, volunteers and students to deliver efficient and quality care. Participate in departmental activities such as in‑services, performance improvement, program development/evaluation, orientation, committee membership, peer review and staff meetings.

What We Require:

Education

• Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.
• Master’s or Doctorate degree required OR Bachelor's degree with five years of experience.

Experience

• Experience in site‑specific level of care preferred but not required.
• For home‑health positions one year of clinical experience required.

Licensure, Certification & Registration

• Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
• AHA BLS‑certified (from a Carilion approved program) within six months of employment.

Other Minimum Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
