Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team full time. You will assess, plan, and carry out therapy programs to restore function and minimize disability, partnering with patients and families to support recovery.

Qualified candidates will hold Florida licensure, a PT degree (B.S. or M.S.), and BLS certification, with strong communication and critical thinking, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to perform work with frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize evaluation data from initial patient assessment, medical history and physician orders to develop a comprehensive care plan.
• Communicate with patients, families and others in a caring, empathetic, respectful manner.
• Receive, interpret, and implement physician orders accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Consult resources to clarify unfamiliar orders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Physical Therapist

We are currently looking for a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team on a full time basis. As a Physical Therapist on our team, you will assess, evaluate, plan, and carry out physical therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function to our patients. You will work with patients to minimize any disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired conditions. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning through synthesizing evaluation data from initial patient assessment, medical history and physician orders to develop a comprehensive plan of care
• Communicate and interact with patients, families and others in a caring, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner
• Receive, interpret, and implement physician orders accurately and in a timely fashion
• Consult resources to clarify unfamiliar orders
