Job summary

CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio, TX seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services, develop individualized plans, and supervise PT/PTA student programs and volunteers. Must coordinate with medical staff and ensure timely discharge planning.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, setting measurable goals, documenting care per policy, and contributing to Performance Improvement initiatives while serving diverse pediatric populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or entry level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree is required.
• All modalities/equipment used by a Physical Therapist per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine physical and cognitive status for inpatients and outpatients.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans with patient/family participation and measurable goals.
• Adheres to documentation standards including Initial Evaluations, daily/weekly progress notes, and Discharge Summaries.
• Participates in patient care conferences, family conferences, in-service programs, and department meetings.
• Counsels patient and family on evaluation, care, and treatment; initiates timely discharge planning and education.
• Assists with supervision of PT/PTA student programs, rehab technicians, and volunteers.
• Supports clinical orientation, scheduling, and staff supervision to ensure patient coverage.
• Demonstrates CHRUST and department core values and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
• Maintains awareness of community resources for referrals and opportunities for research participation.
• Ensures care is adapted to age-specific and developmental needs of patients served.
