Physical Therapist - Casual - Williamsport, PA

Join Our Team as a Casual Physical Therapist at UPMC Williamsport!

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a dedicated Casual/PRN Physical Therapist to support therapy services at Williamsport Hospital. This role offers a premium set rate of pay and a daylight hours schedule. One weekend per month is required, with additional opportunities for weekday and weekend shifts. There are also opportunities to work at other campuses in the North Central PA region, including UPMC Muncy, UPMC Lock Haven, and UPMC Wellsboro.

Responsibilities:

  • Review patient charts, perform initial assessments, develop treatment plans, and administer physical therapy treatments and modalities.
  • Monitor progress and document treatments, including discharge planning and patient education, to improve overall functioning, reduce discomfort, and enhance flexibility, range of motion, and strength.
  • Communicate patient status to physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for students, residents, and fellows in physical therapy.
  • Maintain licensure through continuing education and professional development.
  • Perform assessments, treatments, and supervise PTAs for pediatric to geriatric patients referred by physicians.
  • Develop and modify care plans based on patient response, working with PTAs to adjust programs.
  • Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and education programs.
  • Maintain documentation for all services, including assessments, visits, and discharge summaries, co-signing PTA documentation biweekly.
  • Complete charge and statistical data accurately.
  • Provide home instructions to patients and families when applicable.
  • Schedule patients to meet productivity and quality standards.
Graduate from an accredited program approved by APTA.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active license in practicing state required.
CPR certification based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Act 33, 34, and 73 FBI Clearances with renewal
