Job description

Seeking an on-call physical therapist to work at our 200 University Avenue East (205 Building) St. Paul location to provide physical therapy care to our adult outpatient population. The position is casual/on-call with shifts Monday through Friday in an outpatient setting. The candidate would provide coverage for vacations and when the outpatient setting requires additional staffing due to demand. Provides direct and indirect family-centered therapy services for patients to increase functional abilities, independence, and community integration. Contributes to department, program, and service teams to ensure achievement of desired outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $36.45 to $54.64, with a median wage of $45.54/hour. Pay depends on relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Gillette offers a comprehensive benefits package including a retirement savings match, tuition and certification reimbursement, paid time off, and health and wellness benefits for .5 FTE and above. A $2.75 weekend/evening/night differential is available.

1. Complete evaluations utilizing principles of family-centered care.
2. Implement therapy care plans based on family-centered care.
3. Complete administrative and procedural tasks promptly.
4. Participate in training for essential job competencies.

Qualifications

Required:

• Physical Therapy State License
• Pending credentials: Registration and Licensure not to exceed three months in this status
• Current CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Knowledge of transition from pediatric to adult health and rehabilitation care, especially for adults with childhood onset disabilities
• Pediatric experience preferred in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, and St. Paul; desirable at Phalen Adult Clinic
• Experience working with adults with childhood onset disabilities is strongly preferred at Phalen Adult
• Knowledge of child growth, development, rehabilitation theory, anatomy, neurology, emotional behavior, family needs, community transition, and equipment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Competency in physical therapy evaluation, treatment, and family/community education for transition planning

Preferred:

• Pediatric experience
• Knowledge of transition from pediatric to adult healthcare, especially for adults with childhood onset disabilities
• Experience working with adults with childhood onset disabilities
