Position: Full time physical therapist

Location: Carroll Hospital - Westminster, MD

Salary: Starting at $75,000

Schedule: Weekdays 8A-4P Weekdays with Weekend Rotation (40 hours)

Carroll Hospital in Westminster Maryland is a part of the NovaCare / LifeBridge Health family. This is a 153 bed inpatient hospital seeking a full time physical therapist. This is a 40 hour work week to include a weekend rotation (1-2 Saturdays/month/clinician). New graduate physical therapists are welcome to apply onsite mentorship available. Our large multidisciplinary team is seeking a dynamic clinician who has a passion for serving diverse communities.

Responsibilities

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school of physical therapy
  • Valid State Physical Therapy License/ Registration REQUIRED to start
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week with weekend rotation
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift. Must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day/shift.
  • Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
  • Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community.
  • Possess fine motor skills for legible and accurate reporting, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentations, either manually or through use of electronic equipment.
  • Possess fine motor skills for effective and efficient handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment.
