Job Responsibilities for a Physical Therapist

• Provide pediatric therapy services and evaluations to children aged birth – 21 years in natural settings
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies to facilitate involvement and carry-over
• Work in diverse settings such as homes, daycare centers, preschools, clinics, and community settings
• Follow therapy plans, plan ongoing treatment, and document progress
• Prepare progress reports as needed
• Maintain child records and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations

Requirements for a Physical Therapist

• Passion for working with children and families
• NY State Licensed Physical Therapist
• 1-2 years of experience with children birth–5 preferred but not necessary
• Self-motivated, team player, patient, professional
• Fluency in another language is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Travel to and from cases, including driving, walking, or public transportation
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs
• Lift 10 pounds regularly
• Sit on the floor, kneel, or crawl for extended periods

Starting Rate

Evaluations $128-$175/hour, $66.00-$120.00/hour. Compensation based on experience and education, discussed during the interview.
