SUMMARY
Practices as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) within the scope of care defined in the Georgia Physical Therapy Act. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will be responsible for carrying out a comprehensive program of physical therapy for patients/residents; providing individual/group treatments; participating in patient and interdisciplinary conferences; assisting other staff in the efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department; maintaining timely and effective communication with the Physical Therapist; ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record; and assuring a continuum of care within a hospital, ambulatory clinic, long-term care facility, and/or community-based environment. Maintains confidentiality in addressing matters pertaining to residents, care and services, and human resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Education of the American Physical Therapy Association required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia required.
  • AHA CPR Certification required.
  • Experience preferred in Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab.
