Job summary

Aspirus Stanley Hospital in Stanley, WI seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide outpatient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Duties include pediatric through geriatric care in a collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate will have an APTA-accredited PTA associate degree, current Wisconsin or Michigan PTA licensure, and BLS certification (or within 90 days of hire).

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program is required.
• Current Wisconsin and/or Michigan license to practice as a PTA is required.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Carries outpatient treatment procedures for pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Complies with physical therapy standards and practices.
• Participates in care planning and treatment documentation.

The Physical Therapist Assistant carries outpatient treatment procedures for pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients under the guidance and general supervision of a licensed physical therapist (PT).

Experience/Qualifications:

• Knowledge of physical therapy standards and practices normally acquired through completion of an associate degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required.
• Postgraduate education in patient treatment techniques and experience in general physical therapy treatment is beneficial.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Possesses current Wisconsin and/or Michigan licensure to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant required.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
