Under the overall supervision of the Rehab Director, the Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on‑premise supervision of the Physical Therapist, in compliance with state law governing the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of PA.

The Physical Therapist Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by the department – adolescent through geriatric. The Assistant must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age‑specific needs; and provide the care needed as described in the Physical Therapy Department's policies and procedures.
Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association.
Occasional exposure to blood and body substances.
