Job summary

WeCare Centers seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support residents in Cedarhurst, NY. The PTA assists in implementing therapy plans, helping patients improve mobility and reduce pain, under the guidance of a physical therapist.

Responsibilities include adjusting treatments for safety and progress, preparing patients and equipment, and documenting responses and outcomes after each session. A licensed PTA with outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Must hold current State PTA license.
• Outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make modifications to treatments as directed by the physical therapist to help the patient progress or ensure safety and comfort.
• Prepare patients and equipment for therapy and implement treatment plans, including exercise, stretching, modalities, and mobility training.
• Record patient's reaction to treatment and provide status reports at the end of each session.
• Use assistive devices and equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
