Job description

Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Sign-on bonus $2,250

Reports to: ORP Director

Job Purpose:

To provide daily physical therapy treatment and component assessment to the clients of NWRTW under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist (PT). Client treatment will include a variety of physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the PT in the implementation of treatment programs and treatment progression.
  2. Guide clients through program orientation.
  3. Regular interaction and education with clients.
  4. Modifying client programs under the direction of the PT.
  5. Monitoring clients and clinic environment for safety.
  6. Collaborate with PT to develop changes new exercise programs and progression.
  7. Daily review with PT the progress and/or challenges with client’s program.
  8. Administer evaluation components after achieving documented competence.
  9. Provides customer service surveys.
  10. Participates in weekly client care conferences and attends staff meetings.
  11. Participates in program evaluation and additional CARF program responsibilities as assigned (e.g. Health and Safety, Annual Planning, etc.).

Written Documentation:

  1. Daily notes are to be completed for each treatment encounter by the end of each day with corresponding charges.
  2. Set up and completion of evaluation sections assigned by PT.
  3. Assist with Quality Assurance (QA) for documents and program.
  4. Track professional competencies established with PT (evaluation components, range of motion, MMT, modality use, etc.).
  5. Additional documentation as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed accredited program for Physical Therapist Assistant with corresponding licensure.
  2. Current, unrestricted state licensure (free from disciplinary action).
  3. Membership in professional organization (state and or national).
  4. CPR certification.
  5. One-year experience working in a rehabilitation setting is preferable.
  6. Sound knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook e-mail & Scheduling.
  7. Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
  8. Capacity to negotiate complex claims requiring sensitivity, flexibility, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
  9. Safe operation of exercise and treatment modality equipment.

Working Conditions:

Work primarily in an indoor, outpatient setting, primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Periods of frequent movement including walking, standing, and stabilizing clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.79 - $35.21 per hour DOE
