Job summary

Fiberhire is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Franklin, MA rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The PTA will assist licensed Physical Therapists, implement treatment plans, and help patients improve mobility and independence in a flexible schedule.

The role requires an MA PTA license, ACC PTA program completion, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication with an interdisciplinary team. PRN work with a supportive environment and quality care.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts PTA license is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or required.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
  • Ability to work with an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and mobility activities.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Document treatments and patient responses accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and safety precautions.
  • Promote safety and infection control procedures.
  • Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and the care team.
  • Maintain a professional environment and encourage patient participation.

Position Overview

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant looking for a flexible opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and residents?

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Franklin, MA on a PRN basis. The PTA will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to provide high-quality physical therapy services designed to improve mobility, strength, function, independence, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, transfers, gait training, and mobility techniques.

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition or functional status to the supervising Physical Therapist and appropriate clinical staff.

  • Document treatments, patient responses, progress, and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety precautions, and appropriate use of assistive devices.

  • Promote patient safety and follow established infection control and safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Maintain a professional and supportive environment that encourages patient participation and progress.

  • Assist patients in achieving their highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Participate in care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
  • Current and valid Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and rehabilitation practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions provided by the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.

  • Ability to safely assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic activities.

  • Must be able to pass required background and employment checks.
