Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
2. Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
2. Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
3. Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress notes accurately and timely, obtaining the co-signature of the PT.
4. Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges.
5. Assist with other documentation as indicated and according to state guidelines.
6. Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
7. Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
8. Participate in scheduling patients as indicated.
9. Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
10. Cover other therapists’ caseloads during absence as necessary.
11. Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
12. Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, staff, patients, and families.
13. Provide in-service education regarding patient care or therapy services as needed.
14. Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
15. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect Federal Resident Rights.
16. Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image.
17. Adhere to productivity requirements.
18. Foster a positive work atmosphere through professional communication.
19. Perform all other duties assigned by supervisors or managers.
20. Follow facility policies regarding lunch, overtime, sick leave, and time off.
21. Adhere to all written and oral policies and procedures of the facility.
