Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to enhance patient mobility and independence. You will work within a dedicated care team to deliver personalized therapy, monitor progress, and educate patients and families on home exercise programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with PTs, nursing staff, and therapists, with opportunities for professional growth and scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• LPTA license required.
• Associate degree required.
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
• Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
• Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care.
• Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
• Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
