Position: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs patient-related activities under the supervision of a physical therapist. Services may include but are not limited to purposeful activities or interventions to maximize independence and maintain health for individuals limited by injury, illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disabilities, or adverse environmental conditions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the physical therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses to the therapist
• Assist with consulting patients, family members, and healthcare professionals as appropriate
• Help care for the physical therapy department and equipment
• Support in-service programs and meetings as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the appropriate state
• Prior experience in Physical Therapy is preferred
• Prior experience in Skilled Nursing is preferred
