A leading healthcare provider in Porterville is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to treat patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist. This role involves recording treatment notes, assisting in patient care and training, and ensuring the proper maintenance of treatment areas. Qualified candidates must be licensed and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Part-Time (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board regulations. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow the physician's treatment plan when treating patients. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services. Report any equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance. Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
This position is not supervisory.
Requires frequent standing and/or walking, occasional sitting, and frequent reaching, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to talk, hear, taste, and smell frequently. Capable of exerting significant force (up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly). Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must have good vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
