Job summary

Westminster Suncoast in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the therapy team with direct supervision from the Program Manager or Therapist for each patient.

This PRN (On-Call) position reports to the Director of Out-Patient Therapy. The PTA will carry out the Care Plan designed by the PT, assist during evaluations, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• AA degree from an APTA accredited program; licensure as required by law.
• Two years experience in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the Care Plan as designed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the PT during evaluations.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate with PT.
• Maintain documentation of resident activities, progress and billing.
• Perform resident home assessments as part of discharge per PT.
• Perform screenings during admission and quarterly/annual assessments as directed.

We are currently searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to receive direct supervision from the Program Manager or Therapist for each patient/resident assigned to the Physical Therapist and is dependent on the nature of the skilled tasks and the complexities of the patients/residents presenting condition. May receive clinical supervision from Therapists. This position reports to the Director of Out-Patient Therapy.

Schedule: PRN (On-Call) position

This position is responsible for:

• Responsible for carrying out Care Plan as designed by the Physical Therapist (PT).
• Assist the PT during evaluations.
• Monitor resident’s progress and communicate with PT.
• Maintain documentation in system of resident’s activities, record progress and document billing activities.
• Perform Resident’s Home Assessment as part of the discharge process as directed by the PT.
• Perform Resident’s screening during the admission process and quarterly & annual screening to determine the need for therapy as directed by the PT.

Qualifications:

• AA Degree from an APTA accredited program. Licensure where required by law.
• Two (2) years experience in a health care setting preferred.
