Salary based on full-time employment and productivity: $60,000 to $70,000 per year.

Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA) performs treatments, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being, following the established plan of care.

• Adhere to all state laws governing home care physical therapy, perform only procedures qualified and trained for, and recommend plan modifications to the supervising PT.
• Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse, or physician. Coordinate care with healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members within the PTA scope of practice.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in the state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to transportation.

Additional State Requirements:

• TX: At least one (1) year of licensed PTA experience.
