Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for Home Health in the Boston area. This Full-Time role runs Monday–Friday with no weekends, holidays, or on-call, offering a schedule that fits a balanced life.

You will deliver therapy under supervision, helping patients regain mobility in their own homes and monitor progress to adjust care as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unrestricted Massachusetts PTA license.
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program.
• Six months+ PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to lift or move patients up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation between patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy services under the supervision of the PT.
• Help patients improve strength, balance, mobility and function for independence.
• Monitor progress and report changes to the PT.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises to continue progress at home.
• Instruct on safe use of canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics and orthotics.
• Deliver high-quality care in accordance with physician orders and state guidelines.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver physical therapy services under the treatment plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Help patients improve strength, balance, mobility, and function to support greater independence.
• Monitor progress and promptly communicate changes in condition or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
• Teach patients and caregivers exercises and techniques that support continued progress at home.
• Provide instruction on the safe use of canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality care consistent with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines.

What You’ll Bring

• A current, unrestricted Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Six months or more of PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including assisting with patient positioning, transfers, and equipment.
• Reliable transportation between patient homes and assigned work locations.
• If driving, a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
